Statement of Intent

Health and Safety is of paramount importance to D.M.E Engineering Services Australia. It is our policy to protect all individuals who are employed by, contracted to or visit D.M.E Engineering Australia from workplace injury and illness. This Health and Safety policy is designed to comply with all relevant safety legislation.

Responsibility

Managers will implement this policy and are responsible for the Health and Safety of all persons working at any operation under their control. Managers will ensure all supervisors are provided with necessary instruction, training and resources to implement this policy successfully and hold supervisors accountable to do so.

Supervisors and all people directing the work of others will be responsible for all people under their control. They will actively take steps to identify hazards and will take prompt action to eliminate, control or escalate them to another supervisor or manager with the authority or capability to do so.

Employees must ensure safety is at the forefront of their minds at all times. They must ensure they exercise their duty of care at all times to the extent of their capability. They must follow all safety procedures and the instructions of their supervisors and must report all hazards, injuries and ill health to their supervisor and manager or another management person if their supervisor is not present.

Implementation

This policy is to be implemented through an OHSE program which includes:
  • Active involvement and commitment from managers
  • Identification and control of hazards
  • Investigations and reporting of all accidents and incidents
  • Participation of employees in Health and Safety
  • Provision of first aid and emergency procedures
  • Provision of information, training and supervision as necessary for safety
